Default MISSION 777

Hello to everyone.
I am an italian audiophile (maybe...).
I recently bought a MISSION 777 power amp on ebay becuse of its low
price and great look, or maybe beacuse I have a Cyrus 3 that needs a
help for driving my Tannoy D100 (very sharp but very hard to drive too...).
I can't find any information on the internet but this link
http://www.fl-electronic.de/neuklang/cyrushistory.html

Do anyone knows something more about this amplifier? Any link to give me?

Thanks

Nicola

I don't remember a lot; it was part of the first wave of Mission
products. As I recall (and I could be quite wrong here) there was quite
a gap between announcement and availability - I think there was a quite
substantial redesign with Stan Curtis (usually a good indication of
technical innovation - if not product longevity) being the original
designer, but the final product was from a French designer whose name
escapes me. I believe the amp was very much looked forward to - I rather
fancied one, but the delay getting it into the shops rather took the
momentum away and it never took off in a big way (those were the days of
Linn-Naim mania and lots of good products suffered because of that).
Mission seemed to sort of give up on the big-guns approach after that.
There was a matching preamp. Hope that helps.
