Anyone seen one of these yet and been able to get a demo ?
Specification wise the thing looks very good .... but that aint gonna
matter
if it sounds pap.

I haven't any experience of this - nor (I would guess) have many other
people looking at their distribution network. I've read a review of
something similar and it was generally OK but noise was a problem.
I'd certainly consider something like this (decent display, onboard
storage
and recording to CD, USB for additional storage, network) *if* they were
half the price (500UKP is silly), and had a larger quiet/cool capacity
(250gb should be well within their means - SS is the way to go) for
uncompressed 24 bit recording. If and when they can have my money :-).

I must admit, i wish the thing had a bigger hard disk too ... but 80GB seems
to be the standard at the moment for this sort of thing .... hopefully there
will be an option to upgrade the HD for a larger one at a later date.
Price wise ill admit it sounds expensive but before i heard of this i was
considering the Sony HARLH500 and that costs 320UKP and doesnt have
wireless, cd burner, as many supported formats or an onboard CDDB.
So looking at it that way you could argue the Hifidelio overs better value
for money.
I think if it had a 160GB drive in it for the same price it would be very
tempting ..... that said though i think i could still be persuaded to get
one if the sound quality is up to scrath, id just have to be more selective
about which of my CD's i loaded onto the thing.
Andy.
