The main reason valves & vinyl is better...
The main reason valves & vinyl is better is because I ****ING SAY SO!
My approach is more academic. I throw a coin up, heads for valve, tails for ss.
If it comes down tails, I throw the coin up again.

I gotta be outta here 30 minutes ago, so I'll be *real* brief:
I'm getting a bit hacked off with being branded the bad guy here by people
who have either not been board for than a few minutes (and therefore have no
damn clue) or have got selective vision and/or choose to ignore the *many*
times I have said:
I have a nearly 50/50 split of valve and SS amps
I have 12,500 MP3s and listen to them as background music
We (most of 'em ain't mine) have 300+ CDs here and listen to a few of them
when we want to (which isn't very often to be honest).
I like and listen to vinyl rips on CDR on a routine basis
I have no problem with anyone who can't stand either valves or vinyl
I have no problem with anyone who a) prefers SS/CD or b) thinks SS/CD is/are
better
Valves are not for everyone.
And similar other remarks along the same lines.
I am also getting fed up with being told what wording or language is
*permissible* here and I find the accusations that *I'm* being nasty to that
'nice Mr P' here too ****ing ridiculous for words!! So, to thin the monkeys
out of this group (which will reduce contention, so no bad thing) I'll say
it again:
VALVES AND VINYL ARE BETTER THAN SS/CD. END OF.
*ANYONE* who takes issue with me over this here will be SUMMARILY BINNED -
no exceptions. So, if you want *off* my Christmas Card list, let's be
hearing from you and get the **** off my windscreen, once and for all.
Unlike *some* I don't subscribe here for unending 'venomous' argument.....
(Not having the balls to reply here won't necessarily mean a few of you
ain't headed for the ****ter in any case - there's a few in there already
and I fekkin' *love* it!!)
So, let's be 'avin' ewe....
Keith I really think posts like this are unacceptable displays of
unpleasantness. If you can't stand the heat, just get out of the
kitchen - don't try and throw everybody else out - unless you really
believe that this is your kitchen, that is.
Turning red and stamping and telling everybody you don't like that you
wont talk to them any more really isn't going to fix anything.
You have a nice UK vinyl group of your own where you can go and
promote it to your heart's content if you feel this strongly. Now do
try and be nice - it is nearly Christmas.

I'm afraid he does consider it his newsgroup and his mission in life to
convert everyone to his 'flat earth' views. I had him killfiled, but he's
just changed his address slightly to get round this (I can only assume as
it's not the first time), but one click gets rid of him again.
Unfortunately, he posts so much I still get to see much of it in quotes.
Can't think of a way round that...

I'm not a fan of killfiles, but I'm headed rapidly to making an
exception in his case - he is simply downright offensive most of the
time now.

No, but you obviously think it's *yours*.
But, sorrry to say Donald McRonald, I'm not actually too interested in what
you think and I'm certainly not going to take *instruction* from you.
Turning red and stamping and telling everybody you don't like that you
wont talk to them any more really isn't going to fix anything.
Oh yes it will - it means I don't have to deal with people who bring nothing
into my 'audio world' but censorship, criticism and judgement or try to
regulate my thinking......
You have a nice UK vinyl group of your own
Hmmm, kinda sums your views up a bit, dunnit?
where you can go and
promote it to your heart's content if you feel this strongly. Now do
try and be nice - it is nearly Christmas.
Tell you what Don, just the *once* try posting something new and original
(like *start* a thread) instead of sitting in judgement on others. Take a
leaf out of Pinky's book - he did it only the other day (unless I dreamt
that)...???
Now, binned as promised and I suggest you bin me (should have suggested that
in the original post!!) - no arse, no hardship, just not in each others
faces any more.
Nice.
