Default Speakers for sale.

I am going to make a pair of Buschhorn's and will have my TQWP's for sale;
http://www.jrbham.btinternet.co.uk/tqwp/index.html

Does anyone know of a second hand site where I can put the details and a
picture?
I'd prefer not to use eBay, I think you should listen to speakers before you
buy and I'm not in a hurry.

Hmm... I'm tempted to think the seller doesn't like treble.
I'll never trust a single drive unit speaker - well, if I
heard a decent one, I might, but it hasn't happened yet.

I'm not including concentric drive units as offered by
KEF and Tannoy for example. I mean single-coil units.

I'm sure those treble-cones were put there for a reason, and
not meant to be shorn by treble-haters!

Yes, a single drive unit for the full range is a worthy goal,
but there's this little thing about wavelength versus diameter
that's a problem. And shifting all that mass at a high frequency
is difficult too, even though the excursion at high frequencies
is lower.

Yes, if I had the money I'd have electrostatics!

Still, good luck.

Dear Martin,

When you grow up you will find that most of the stuff you read in magazines
is crap.

Make a start by listening to the music, eventually you will find your way to
the horn loaded single driver speaker and be able to enjoy the music to the
full.

And even they, with no mass to speak of, use more than one unit.

Horn loading is ideal for alarm sirens. High efficiency, you see.
Pointless in audio these days.

If you are in Birmingham in the next week or so, you would be welcome to
listen to my TQWP's. At least it would be a start for you.

I sold a few amps on www.hififorsale.com very quick a couple of weeks ago.

Of course you speak for 'everyone else' as well.
Forgot that bit :-)

At last!! Thank you Dave I have found out where I can advertise them.
Your comments about horns are very interesting, may I respectfully suggest
that look at the Single Driver Site and follow through some of the links to
the people who build and design horns. Technology has not stood still with
horn design either. If you live near Birmingham you would be welcome to
listen to what I have now and even more welcome to listen to the Buschhorn's
when I finish those.
