Default Best Budget Player?

What's the best budget player at around the £40 to £60 mark?? I need
multi-region, VCD, and MP3 playback. The quality of the CD playback is also
important (although I know I'm only buying a budget player).

There are a few on sky.com/buy, but it doesn't give the model numbers so I
can't look up any reviews.

Any advice anyone?

Cheers in advance
Lee

Pacific one from ASDA. Plays things that my Toshiba and Wharfedale won't
play.

Not necessarily that important to me really. Most budget players play MP3s,
VCD, etc but quality of sound is pretty important (plus must be multi-region
with/without a remote hack).

Nice to see someone actually considering picture and sound quality for a
change!.
People seem to be obsessed only with the lowest price and what it will play
these days

Well, it can't be that important to him if he's not even willing to spend
£100. CD quality will be lousy at that price, pure and simple.

The Maxim player I got for £25 for my dad from SkyBuy did have good image
quality though - nearly as good as my Sony player which cost over £400 a few
years ago.

I've already spent a few quid on my main DVD player (Pioneer 656A), so I
don't want to spend too much on a DVD player for the bedroom. The reason I
want it to play half decent music is because the amp is also powering a pair
of ceiling speakers in the bathroom. I know I won't get the quality I have
elsewhere in the hous, but I'd rather spend £50 quid on a player with half
decent audio, than £40 on a player which doesn't.

I took a gamble and ordered a DVPNS585 from them even though I've heard that
their CS is crap. I'll probably live to regret it but it's SUCH a good
price! Fool to myself! Come on Sony, don't let me down!!

Fair enough. I still use ebuyer despite what everyone says about them. I'd
gut myself than use digital-point again, though. ;-)
