Does anyone have personal experiences about this player. I'm thinking about
it because of SACD.

Dear Grga
I bought one from DV-565A multi region from Richer sounds. I bought it
because it does SACD, cd and DVD Audio. and DVD I have tried it on its own
straight through to the system but it sounds much better used as a transport
to my Chord DAC64 for CD and DVD. It does show SACD and DVD-A to be better
than straight CD on the discs that I have but not to any major degree.
Regarding using it as a DVD for movies I have only watched a single live
music disk using the S-Video out and it worked fine. Note I was told it
does not do progressive scan , however the manual says it does but only on
the component video outputs.

I did not bother to compare it to other DVD players because there are no
comparable players in it's price range.

I bought one also just for SACD & DVD-A, and have been well pleased with it
for those formats. I have also used it to watch DVD-Vs, and have been well
impressed. You should just go for it - especially if you already have a half
decent CD player (it's not so good on those).
