CHARTER: uk.rec.audio.vinyl

uk.rec.audio.vinyl is intended for the discussion of any matter
related to audio replay by means of vinyl records and other
'non-digital' disc or cylinder sources. Including related associated
equipment, modifications, cover-art, history, and general "set-up"
and maintainance.

uk.rec.audio.vinyl is for those interested in vinyl and other
non-digital sound formats. Whilst discussion of format
differences is welcome, discussions comparing digital formats
(with each other or with non-digital formats) are off-topic.


Advertising:

Advertising is only acceptable when it is short, when it is relevant
to the primary topic of the newsgroup (ie sound reproduction using
vinyl), & when what is advertised is reasonably available to the UK
readership of the group.

Postings regarding advertising should be of four lines or fewer,
and not posted more than once every 3 months. The subject line
should begin "FS: " for items for sale, "FA: " for items offered via
Internet auction sites, and "WTB: " for items that are being sought for
purchase.

Suppliers of goods and services relevant to sound reproduction using
vinyl in the UK may post an invitation to visit their web site or request
details.

Binaries & Formatting:

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are
forbidden. Such material belongs on a web or FTP site to which a
pointer may be posted. Cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP) may be
used where authentication is important and should be as short as
possible.

Posts must be readable as plain text. HTML, RTF and similarly

Its through (at least on Compuserve's news servers).

Last time I checked half the messages were about buying/selling vinyl
records ... is this what the group was set up for?

I predict that the usual list of suspects will continue to bash digital on
UKRA, as hard as ever.

The essence of vinyl love appears to be bashing digital.
