Default Nero Wave Editor.

Hello All.

I am trying to use Nero Wave Editor to chop some parts out of some audio
files & make the new parts into new files. It appears to be working okay but
the new files are not what I expect.

I end up with three files instead of the one new one. What is going on here?
None of the new files will play so what am I doing wrong?

Jon

I had a similar experience with another product - there is a simple solution
through a change of method. I have Nero but MP3DirectCut is tiny and free
and much easier to use.

I edit out the beginning and end of 8-10 DAB recordings daily. I tried
defining the beginning edit and the end edit and saving the part in the
middle.
Problem: the whole file is saved with the edits in a separate file so that
when it's played the parts are edited out but remain in the file.
Inconvenient: doesn't reduce the file size and now there are 2 files.

Using MP3DirectCut mark the beginning and end of the item/piece you want to
keep eg. Selection #1 and save as a separate file. Repeat for as many
selections as you need. Close the original file.
Open the selection that is the *last* part of the new file and join to the
desired preceding selection (automatic process in MP3DirectCut). Repeat as
necessary.

Let me know how it works for you.

Probably not reading the manual well enough :-)
Nero is a very simple wave editor. But what it does do, it does OK.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I don't have it installed here.
