Default Yet more support for the vinyl newsgroup

Hi - I've followed the raging debate on uk.rec.audio and would just like to
add my support for the vinyl newsgroup. At last a haven where I'm not told
(told mind) digital is better. Marvellous. Hope it goes through and thanks
to all those who put in the effort.

I would, at this stage, ask the good folk of unnc to take a good look at the
'ukrav' RFD thread and judge for themselves whether or not they think
splitting the 'vinyl' contingent away to their own group is a good idea.
(Still at the 'mild' stage yet, BTW!).........

Yes, that thread makes the point rather well I think. Still, it can go
too far. If it carries on and degenerates much further the folk at
unnc
will think we're all barmy and probably vote to remove uk.rec.audio.*
completely, on the grounds that 'you lot shouldn't be allowed near
anything electrical at your age'. :-)

In which case Glenn they'd have to shut down the whole of unn* as what's
been going on in the vinyl thread is equivalent to bringing up baby
beautifully compared to how some RFDs go, and you should read the infighting
on rules and regulations!

IMHO a dedicated vinyl group is what many people (me included) have been waitingfor. The current issue (24) of hi-fi+ mag refers to Vinyl survival, whichis not really appropriate, Vinyl never got even close to critical. I wholeheartedly
support the formation of a dedicated vinyl group and will vote as such when the time comes.

Many thanks to all those who have started this particular ball rolling

Regards

Alan Jackson
