BTW I don't know whats hot and not for kitchens in the UK, but Corian fell
from favor in the US maybe 10 or more years ago. The new magic is granite.
When I had my kitchen re-done recently I was offered granite worktops. I
took one look at the price and opted for the cheaper alternative. Whether
that alternative was Corian or not I don't know, I didn't take that much
interest.
You can figure what's the next good idea for high end speakers, no? ;-)
I remember the fashion for making speakers out of concrete drainpipes. And
when my grandfather built his own HiFi speaker (just the one, it was before
the days of stereo) it included copious quantities of builders' sand.
