Default Best price for Sennheiser headphone cables?

Hi All,
the connection has gone at the 2.5mm jack end of the cable on my
HD200 headphones. Having had a search on the web for replacement
parts, the best price for a replacement cable I could find was

about
£25 from www.strachan-direct.co.uk. Can anyone recommend anywhere
cheaper, or is that about as good as I'm going to get?

Cheers,
S.

Do you mean 3.5mm rather than 2.5mm?

Unfortunately I do mean 2.5mm. One end is 3.5mm (comes with the usual

6mm
adapter), but the other end is a 2.5mm stereo jack which plugs into

the
bottom of the left earcup. Some models use this size (like sometimes

found
on dictaphone remotes, mobile phone handsfree kits etc) whereas others

use
the normal 3.5mm minijacks.

Dunno about the HD200s but the cable on my HD590s is just a bit of
wire with 3.5mm minijacks at each end. I found this out the "hard"
way when I was wearing the headphones and stepped on the cable. "I
****" I thought but was pleasantly surprised to find that the cable
had just got unplugged at the headphone end.

Yep, mine has been forcefully disconnected this sort of way at the

headphone
end a few too many times for its liking. The connections inside the

cable
are obviously loose because any slight head movement causes the cable

to
flicker between stereo and mono etc. I know it's the cable and not the
socket inside the earcup because I tested using a mate's pair.

If you do have a double end cable then the following would be a
reasonable replacement

The other more obvious alternative is to obtain a new connector and
get the soldering iron out.

So far I've only been able to find such parts for 3.5mm minijacks, not

the
2.5mm that Sennheiser thought fit to use on some models.

In that case what about item COM638 on
http://www.lektropacks.co.uk/dept.as...tom&dept_id=52

or item 9058 on
http://garex.co.uk/components/components.htm

or google for it
