Default Powerful enough for my speakers?

Make sure you don't compare the Mordaunts to any decent speakers. :-)

Ah now, you can't dis my old speakers without recommending an upgrade.
Nothing expensive either - I can't hear the hi-fi anyway with the
children yelling at me :-)

Just ignore the **** - I'm using MS20s in the kitchen, and they still
beat the pants off most of the current stuff below 400 notes. Robin
Marshall is one of the best speaker designers this country's ever
seen, and his 'minimalist' MS designs are classics.

In the kitchen - possibly the best place for them. :-)

I acquired a pair of MS3.40s, which I assume use the same tweeter
as the MS3.30, from a friend. These are in as-new condition and sound
generally quite nice. Yet in comparison to my other speakers the treble
is not clear. It sounds smeared, turning triangles into cymbals IYSWIM.

So go ahead and compare. I'd be interested to read your opinions.
