Final plans involve interstage, I am planning on trying the interstage

Have you got a reference for this, web site etc? You are using Gary K's DC
circuit?

The TX site is http://www.ae-europe.nl/uitgangstrafo_engels.htm

The circuit is similar to Gary K, though if you quitely ask Paul B, he
would provide alternate origins to that circuit :-). Anyway, this shows
the input stage I am using at the moment.

Currently uising 40khz heating from modified lighting transformers..

So you actually managed to get these fabled beasts going!!!

Yes, they work well, two powered a pair of gm70's and one is doing fine
for a pair off 211's. I have discoivered to get the least "hum" on the
output, you still need to employ humpots, its just the hum is inaudible.

Its not perfect though. ok for Cd as it happens, but if you have a
source with higher freq output you can get some IM from the 40khz. The
humpot reduces this problem though.

When I get further on with the amp, I will try conventional AC and DC
heating and see what if any are the comparisons.
