Advice re using one pair of speakers but two amps
In article ,
says...
I have a Monitor Audio Bronze B2AV package connected to a Sony STRDB940
receiver.
The receiver is not that great with stereo music reproduction. I would like
to get a separate stereo amp for listening to music, however, I would still
like to use the Monitor Audio Bronze B2 fronts.
How would I go about using the speakers with the stereo amp while they are
connected to the Sony Receiver. I don't want to keep unplugging and plugging
in etc. I have them in a biwired configuration at the moment.
For similar reasons I have a Denon AV receiver used in conjunction with an Audiolab amp.
The Denon handles all the Dolby decoding, drives the centre and rear speakers and provides
the sub output. I take the Denon's pre-amp level output for the two main channels and feed
them into an pair of unused tuner inputs on the Audiolab. CD player and Turntable feed
directly into the Audiolab.
Once wired up it's just a case of balancing output levels. I have a setting marked on the
Audiolab's volume control which matches the output from the main speakers to that of the
centre and rears.
Simple, but it works for me..
