Whoa!!!! You want to convert a red book CD (16 bit 44.1KHz sampling
frequency) to DVD-A which usually starts at 24/48 and goes up 24/192.

Indeed - I know that...

However 44.1/16 is suported and should therefore work fine.

You keep talking about DVD-Audio when you really (I think) mean DVD-V
compliant formats.

Well, it depends on how much you want to squeeze onto the DVD. If
your are not planning on using MLP to compress the data, you can use
the DVD-V audio space to put lots of 16/44.1 music on it. If you hope
to squeeze more onto the disc, you graduate to the MLP/DVD-A spec
which requires different software for burning and is playable only on
a DVD-A player.
